FEAUINA EVES
Feauina Eves is a Brisbane-based mixed-media artist with New Zealand / Pacific Island roots. Her practice is deeply intuitive and emotive, shaped by memory, place, and cultural heritage, and guided by a strong connection to the natural world.
Growing up in Aotearoa as one of six siblings, Feauina was immersed in untamed landscapes of sea, sky, and open land. These early experiences continue to inform her work, influencing its organic rhythm, sense of movement, and emotional depth.
Her paintings are recognised for their transparent layering, bold yet considered mark-making, and nuanced use of colour. Each piece holds a balance of energy and stillness, inviting reflection while encouraging an intimate connection between artwork and viewer. With over 30 years’ experience as a fashion designer, interior stylist, and design director, Feauina’s creative instinct is long-held, her artistic language shaped by a lifelong immersion in form, texture, colour, and spatial storytelling.
Rooted in her Pacific Island heritage, Feauina’s work explores themes of ancestry, belonging, and the quiet narratives carried through generations. Through texture and repetition, she weaves personal memory with ancestral rhythm, creating work that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
In 2025, Feauina completed a 12-month mentorship with respected Sydney based artist Deni Rayneau, a formative period that strengthened her technical confidence and clarified her artistic voice. In 2026, she will continue her professional development through an in-house mentorship with internationally recognised artist Llewellyn Skye.
Feauina’s work is created from the heart, honest, layered, and held with intention, resonating with collectors seeking meaningful, story-rich contemporary art.
